Saturday, now the best day of the week, football day. Your favourite team is playing, this away match is crucial for the rest of the season. Beers are cooled and crisps are in a bowl. You sit down on the couch and start - wait. Stop. Let's rewind and do better.
There are definite reasons for going to the stadium. Seeing the game firsthand. Be with the crowd and sing along. Be the roar when they score.
However, there are equal points for watching from home.
You have a better sound and picture. The commentators are crisp so you know what they say.
You have multiple angels so you can see if the action was ok or not.
You can skip queues and go to your fridge. Loo too. A few drinks at the stadium is quite expensive and not so good.
You can watch and have quality time with family or friends. You can talk it over and discuss it. You can also roar when they score. All in the house can follow you in the game.
So why would you not see to it that the game day is the best day of the week, no matter if the team wins or not.
Why crisps when the oil and salt stick on your fingers. A bottle on the table is ok but really?
At the sports bar you get a draft beer and peanuts. If this game is so important, so is the company of friends who sit with you. But with a better TV at home, why would they?
They will come because you are a good host and now we talk. First up is drinks, is a bottle enough? At the bar, they got a beer dispenser. You can, too, get one at home here. Now you can start to pour up a good and foamy beer. Now this is an improvement, isn't it? With beers from a beer pump and proper glasses on foot, rounded to catch the bubbles and ensure the crown is building up we got one item sorted.
To eat, why not chili cheese puff pastry. Simple to do with puff pastry, cheese and jalapeno. No sticky fingers and 15 min to make. Add avocado and salmon rolls by cutting a salmon in thin slices, mash the avocado and blend them, sprinkle the lemon juice over it, season it with salt and pepper, flat bread easy to roll and voila, you got two snacks with a home beer pump for the game. Even alone this is so good.
To add something for everyone, a prosciutto roll with cream cheese on a toasted baguette with a vitamin shot, can you use a blender with veggies you do or buy a bottle of vitamin shot blend. So proper beers from a beer tap, vitamin shots for the second serving and something good to eat. Now you are prepared for the game of this special week.
Think of it, this is your team playing the best they can, you want to watch with friends. If the team is doing their best, why wouldn't you? Build up better game days with a draft beer machine, add better food and you will be the best there is for watching football. Invite friends and add the serving as a menu. Imagine all get a glass of foamy beer in their hands, a nice item to eat, this is a vast improvement. Your friends will remark on it for sure but they are just envious. A home beer pump? Real food? Vitamin shots? Are you crazy? Well not crazy but ramping up you as the host for the important game. You will be the talk of the next week but this is good.
There are usually some who do not want to watch the game and stay at home. Why not invite families over so those who don't watch can sit and chat somewhere else and children can play outside. This can become a garden party instead of a home alone game on TV.
This will be the best day for others too, the beer dispenser can fill their glass as well, the vitamin shot is nice for everyone and the food is good before dinner too. You only have to alter the preparations a little, from bottles in the fridge and crisps in a bowl to draft beer from a home beer pump and snacks without oil. Easy to do but a world of difference. With today's energy cost and rise in food prices, this will give you benefits in other ways.
The main benefit is you watching football with friends, enjoying a nice beer and a good snack.
