The Best Soccer Stadiums in Canada

The Best Soccer Stadiums in Canada

Soccer might not be the most popular sport in Canada, but it's definitely among the top three. It's one of those sports everyone likes to watch on the weekend and gossip about on weekdays. If you visit Canada, there's a pretty good chance you will fall in love with the sport. Reasons for this are the beauty of the game and the atmosphere inside the stadiums. Of course, you will need an ETA Canada to travel legally to the country, but the process is simple, especially if you have an agent to assist you.

A Little Background Information on Soccer in Canada

When inside a Canadian soccer stadium, you feel the love and passion of the sport. This love and passion helped the country qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. It will surprise you that it was their first World Cup qualification since 1986.

Apart from World Cup qualification, Canada has also hosted significant football tournaments. Some include the 2015 FIFA Women's world cup and 2014 U15 women's world cup. In the following paragraphs you will see some of the stadiums that made those tournaments electrifying and unforgettable.

Top 3 Canadian Football Stadiums

Here are the best soccer arenas in Canada:

The Olympic Stadium

With a sitting capacity of more than 61,000 fans, the Olympic stadium has no match. It's a stadium that's regarded as the home of soccer in Canada. They say when watching a game at the Olympic stadium, your brain processes and body showcases every form of emotion. This happens regardless of which team you are supporting.

For Canadian football fans, the Olympic stadium holds a lot of memories. It was at this stadium East Germany won the 1976 Olympics beating their neighbours Poland at the final. Those who were present at the game will tell you there is nothing that beats the feeling in the stadium.

The Commonwealth Stadium

Built in 1978, the Commonwealth Stadium is Canada's most beautiful and biggest open-air stadium. This stadium welcomes over 56000 fans and is home to the Canadian national team. If you ever visit this stadium, you will be amazed by the work put into its design and construction. It's a stadium every soccer team will be happy to call home.

One thing that catches your attention while at the Commonwealth stadium is the colour spectrum of the seats. Across different levels, you will see the seats beautifully separated with different shades of yellow and green. This makes the arena unique and a perfect place to enjoy a soccer game in Canada.

The British Columbia Place Stadium

Located in the capital city Toronto, the BC place is a sitting beauty in Canada. It's a stadium that hosted some of the biggest games of the 2015 FIFA women's world cup with a sitting capacity of 50,000 fans. In comparison to other stadiums, the BC place is a small stadium. However, it compensates for its small size with a structure only few stadiums worldwide can match.

Bottom Line

The few stadiums mentioned above do not in any way do justice to the number of magnificent stadiums in Canada. However, they represent the beauty, love and passion Canadians have for the game of soccer.
