RECAP OF NACAC's Apr.18-19 College Fair At Maryland SoccerPlex

RECAP OF NACAC's Apr.18-19 College Fair At Maryland SoccerPlex

Last week, the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) hosted a National College Fair at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown.

The fair was held at the SoccerPlex On Tues, Apr. 18 and Wed., Apr. 19. More than 300 representatives from post-secondary institutions attended the fair, which was open to high school students.

This National College Fair event was sponsored by the NACAC as well as the Montgomery County Public Schools. Per the MCPS Twitter account, day one of the fair drew several thousand students.

The complex has hosted a wide variety of soccer matches for teams like the Maryland Bobcats FC, and soccer fans might be interested in trying a Maryland sports betting promo code in the future. Maryland officially launched sports betting back in November after a lengthy push. Through the various sportsbooks, customers of "The Old Line State" can place wagers on their favorite sports such as football, baseball, hockey, basketball, soccer and golf.

As well, Maryland sportsbooks are offering special promos to new customers upon signing up. This includes up to $1,250 in bonus bets plus 1,000 in Reward & Tier Credits from Caesars, $150 in bonus bets if you bet $5 on an NBA team at DraftKings and a $500 "second chance" wager from BetRivers.

Such fairs are held around the world to help students in secondary schools gain a better understanding of universities and colleges, since deciding where to go after high school is an awfully difficult decision for millions of teenagers around the world.

Whether you wish to move away for your post-secondary studies or to stay close to home, there are limitless post-secondary options. It can be overwhelming to narrow down your choices, and reps at national fairs are there to try and help you make the difficult life-changing decisions.

About The Maryland SoccerPlex

As previously noted, the Maryland Bobcats FC play their home games at the Maryland SoccerPlex. The Bobcats are a member of the National Independent Soccer Association, which launched back in 2017.

The venue, which opened in 2000, has been home to the Bobcats since 2021. It also served as the home for other clubs like the Washington Spirit (they now play at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.) in the National Women's Soccer League and the now-defunct Real Maryland F.C. club of the USL Premier Development League.

The Maryland SoccerPlex is among the state's most widely-used locations for youth and adult soccer events/tournaments. The Maryland SoccerPlex holds other recreational activities such as mini golf, swimming, biking and hiking.

Sports Teams To Bet On In Maryland

The state of Maryland is home to the NFL's Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball. Though they're marketed in Washington, the NFL's Commanders actually play at FedExField in Landover, Maryland.

The Orioles are off to a surprisingly strong start and look poised to end a seven-year playoff drought in 2023. As such, they're an excellent betting option for individual games for wagers like moneylines, over/under totals, spreads and more.

Thanks to their scorching hot start, the Tampa Bay Rays are a giant favorite to win the AL East at DraftKings at -105, followed by the Toronto Blue Jays at +260. The New York Yankees are third at +310, followed by the Orioles at +2200.

With the O's, Jays and Yankees in a tight three-way race for second in the division, Baltimore is an excellent value bet to win the AL East. Also at DraftKings, Adley Rutschman has the fourth-best odds of winning the AL MVP at +1100, behind only Shohei Ohtani (+110), Aaron Judge (+700) and Mike Trout (+700).

Residents of Maryland also love betting on the Commanders and Washington's other three major professional sports franchises in the NHL's Capitals, the NBA's Wizards plus the Nationals of Major League Baseball.

The Capitals and Wizards both failed to qualify for the postseason in their respective leagues, so fans will have to wait until October (the start of the 2023-24 campaigns) to place game wagers on them.

The 2023 NFL season will commence in September. The season schedule will likely be released in May, and then at some point in the summer, the early Week 1 betting odds will be shared.

In the meantime, customers can still place futures wagers on the NFL — such as Super Bowl champions, division winners and winner awards.
