Macarthur FC - A-League's Newest Club

Macarthur FC - A-League's Newest Club

When a new club joins an established league, it becomes tough to create a new identity among already established names.

But for Macarthur FC, creating their niche has not been a problem at all.

To be honest, no first-time viewer would guess that Mcarthur FC are newcomers in the A-League circuit.

And with the way they are playing, it will only be a matter of time before they start going for big titles in the country.

Currently, they sit fourth in the Australian League standings, much to the surprise of online casino australia. Ante Milicic, the current manager of Mcarthur FC, looks extremely satisfied with the progress that his players are making. However, their journey wasn't a walk in the park.

Let us take a brief look at the past present and future of Macarthur FC- A League's Newest Club.

Early Days

In May 2019, the club was founded by Gino Marra & Sam Krslovic. These two individuals established the logo and colors of the club, giving it an identity. Furthermore, after announcing the club's name, the nickname was also announced i.e. "The Bulls".

In January 2020, just a few months before the pandemic halted their progression, the club announced their first signing i.e. Tommy Oar. After a month, Lang Walker announced that he would be selling half of the ownership stake in the club.

He would be selling this ownership stake to two Australian businessmen i.e. Michael Gerace and Roy Mammone. Gerace already owned Sydney Trucks and Machinery whereas Mammone was a Sydney property developer.

Both these individuals bought half of the club's stake for the value of $7m. The other half is owned by Gino Mara and Sam Krslovic.

The average attendance at Campbelltown Stadium, the home of Macarthur FC, was 3,500 fans.

While the first season was restricted by COVID regulations, the Bulls would be looking to fill the 20,000 seater stadium in the coming months and years as their support grows by the day.

On 30th December 2020, the club established itself on the map of Australian football. They played their first-ever A-League match against Western Sydney Wanderers, which they won with a score of 1-0.

In their first season (2020-21), Mcarthur FC finished sixth in the table. A very respectable result and one which will have surprised punters at sports betting nz.

However, they have made significant strides since that finish and are already guaranteed to improve from their previous seasons.

The best thing was that they were just one win away from making it to the finals.

While they did lose veteran goalie and captain Adam Federici to retirement, Ulises Davila has been an able leader to take over the armband.

In terms of young blood, fans would be expecting a lot from Al Hassan Toure who joined recently from Adelaide United.

Considering how the team has already improved despite making few signings, one can only expect their footballing level if they are given a few more transfer windows.

Future Outlook

Many footballing experts in Australia believe that Mcarthur FC is only going to build on their current football team if they continue to improve.

Currently, they are considered the dark horse of the A-League, which can beat any team on their day.
