About Wxmmat

Have missed school a number of times to go to Wrexham games. I think the games were Gateshead away where we won 4-1 and Ebbsfleet United away where we won 5-0.

First Game

It was a Wrexham home game vs either MK Dons or Wycombe Wanderers in a League 2 fixture.

Best Game

The best game I have ever been to was an FA Cup 3rd Round match where we(wrexham) travelled 5 hours down to the AMEX Stadium to play Brighton & Hove Albion who are in the Championship. WE took 2,027 fans down there and the atmosphere was amazing. We drew 1-1 and got a reply back at our place which we lost on penalties.... Brentford away at Griffin Park in the FA Cup 2nd Round was also a great game to watch.

Worst Game

There are 3:
Mansfield Town away in April 2012 - The game was shown live on Premier Sports on Sky so there were only 184 of us who travelled to Field Mill. One of the roads was closed there for it took us 3 hours to get there instead of 2. It was lashing down all game on a friday night and the pitch was really heavy and it was freezing. We wasn't allowed in Mnasfields social club so we had to go straight into the ground. We lost 2-0 and even Mansfields goalkepper, Alan Marriott scored from his own box.
Then there was Forest Green Rovers away in 2012 - was a cold night but we took around 350 fans with us on a 3 hour journey. The atmosphere before the game was good and had fish & chips in their social club. Went inside the stadium and waited for kick off. When kick off came the atmosphere was flat! 700 odd fans spectating and felt like a reserve game. We lost 1-0 aswell as missing a 93rd minute penalty.
Last was Gateshead at home in either 2010 or 2011 - Our club was in crisis with our owners and we thought we were going to get adjected from the league and go boom. Fans held a march round the pitch with banners about our owners and was ripping the owners names down around the ground. We also lost 7-2!!! By the end of the game there were only 1,000 left in the ground when at the start there were 3,500 if i remember correctly.

Because I went there in the FA Cup 3rd round with a non league side, Wrexham! So it was obviously going to be special. The atmosphere was electric. It was also a friendly place to go as Wrexham and Brighton fans are very close as we helped each other in a fans united day in 2004. Went to Brighton pier before the game which was also a great start to the day. Then there is there modern stadium which wasn't even 1 year old. Padded seats! The lot!.... the entertainment was amazing and was very pleasant. Would go there 1 million times if had the chance!

Even though we won the game 2-1 that day it was just terrible. We, Wrexham were allocated 800 tickets for the away end. We got there and you couldn't move, see or anything! There were 150 odd fans in the yellow hatches by the advertising boards which was against the rules but there was no room to swing a cat!
